Shifts
- Full-Time or Part-Time
- 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM
- Flexible scheduling: 4-on/2-off or 2-on/4-off
Requirements
- Current registration in good standing with BCCNM
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Experience in electronic documentation and eMar systems
- Proficient in English, both verbal and written
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Prior experience in Long-Term Care (preferred)
- COVID vaccination certificate
About the Role
The Registered Nurse at The Gardens at Qualicum Beach plays a vital role in ensuring residents receive top-notch care. From admissions and discharges to medication administration and care planning, the RN works collaboratively with physicians, families, and care teams. Responsibilities also include electronic documentation (PointClickCare), wound care, and MDS Assessments. The RN is a key leader, delegating tasks to care providers and acting as Charge Nurse when required. They actively participate in care conferences, medication reviews, and liaise with families to provide compassionate support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct resident admissions, discharges, and transfers
- Perform detailed assessments and care planning
- Administer medications, treatments, and wound care
- Document resident care electronically (PointClickCare)
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Lead care conferences and medication reviews
- Supervise and delegate tasks to care staff
