Salary Details:
The annual salary for this position ranges from £37,338 to £44,962, commensurate with experience and qualifications. About the Role: The Senior Staff Nurse will play a critical role in overseeing nursing care within the Mill Lodge Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit. This 10-bedded unit caters to young individuals aged 13-18 with complex mental health issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising junior staff, coordinating shifts, and developing care plans tailored to each patient’s needs. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential to ensure that all aspects of patient care are effectively addressed. Key responsibilities will include managing medication rounds, facilitating NG feeding as per care plans, and providing leadership and clinical supervision to junior nursing staff. The role also involves active participation in clinical and managerial supervision, reflective practice, and delivering training in specific areas of expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee nursing care provided in the unit
- Support and mentor junior staff
- Act as a keyworker for a small number of young patients
- Develop and implement care and risk management plans
- Coordinate shifts and lead the nursing team during daily operations
- Facilitate medication rounds and ensure adherence to care plans
- Work closely with families and external partners to promote care continuity
